Success Story: Tingle and kick from the can

The Ball Packaging Europe Slim Can containing a wine-mix drink was presented with the Metal Manufacturers' Association (MPMA) Award UK in Silver for attracting tremendous media attention and for its eye-catching superior design.

In summer 2006, Rich Prosecco in the Ball Packaging Europe 200 ml aluminium can was celebrated in all hip magazines as the new in-drink. Not least thanks to the jet-set queen, Paris Hilton, who having been won over as advertising ambassador for the sparkling wine in the can, made the innovative beverage popular at celebrity parties.  The idea to offer Prosecco from the Treviso area of Italy in the golden coloured can was the brain-child of Austrian Günther Aloys who "added a new exciting facet to the beverage range which will attract a dynamic modern target group“. The grapes for the Rich Prosecco ripen on the slopes of Pieve di Soligo and are refined to Frizzanti according to age-old tradition at the Cantina Colli del Soligo vineyard. Rich Prosecco in the can is being marketed in Austria and Germany through various retail chains.
